Spot-on espresso involves grinding coffee grounds to an exact coarseness, tamping those grounds into an espresso portafilter using a fixed, increasing amount of pressure three separate times, heating the water to steam of a certain temperature, pre-infusing water into the grounds -- and then actually brewing the espresso, which should take 23 to 30 seconds for a perfect cup. For those of us who want a pretty good cup of espresso without all the work, Braun offers an easy-to-use home espresso machine. Unscrew the lid over the water tank, located at the top of the machine. From any number of Italian pump-driven machines, to this bantam weight Braun E20. Why? Because I think I may get better tasting espresso with it. DESIGN: By the time I bought the Braun (yesterday), I already had 2 steam espresso machines. So it's not like I really needed this. But what attracted me specifically to the Braun is. I have, for example, a clock he designed that matches this espresso maker.http://amoosetracksmanor.com/userfiles/briggs-stratton-quantum-power-5-hp-engine-manual.xml It's a very German design, and to me, one of the best looking espresso makers ever made. Clean and angular lines, a superior size and shape, fine ridges across many of the surfaces (that may not be seen in photos), adding texture you don't normally see in such machines. Just a gorgeous design. Though I am a big fan of the steam-powered Krups 963 machine (see my review), now that I see this one up close, IMHO the Braun Type 3058 is the very best -looking- steam-driven espresso machine ever made. And generally speaking, one of the best, if not the best, -electric- steam-powered espresso machines ever made (that I know of). So there's that. But when I brought it home, I found it didn't work. The steam did, but nothing would come out of the brew head. But rather than return it to the seller. I decided I would try to repair it, than give up such a beautiful and rare espresso gem. And that is exactly what I did. Read on, my friend! BUILD: The machine is made in Switzerland (my favorite country for espresso machines.) and the construction of the Type 3058 is something else. Most people would probably just see it as cheap crap.Particularly since I am now intimately familiar with this machine, having completely disassembled it, and almost re-engineered it. e.g. It's pretty much entirely plastic, making it very light weight. But what is that plastic. Not all plastics are alike.Example, on my Krups 968, it pretty much seems like the same nylon plastic used on the Braun body, and even on the Krups Mini 963. But the Krups kept cracking or breaking off parts when I went into it one time, and its tank lid already had a large piece missing, from having broken off. Yet the Braun has no cracks, no broken pieces, not even a scratch. And despite having many tabs you need to pull to get into it, despite having panels you need to really pry into in order to loosen them.It survived being pried with tiny crowbars and stabbed with mini pliers. It is one tough pile of plastic.http://schlammatlas.de/en/node/15530 If only all plastic machines were like this. Once inside the machine, you again see things that on the surface, seem really cheap or low-endish. The aluminum boiler for example, appears thin. But its a -quality- thin. Well this boiler did not have a trace of scale, or scaley feel, when you wipe the inside with a finger. As with the plastic, that may have to do with the quality of metal and coating used. Mind, only the bottom is aluminum. The top part of the boiler is some alloy; ie. zinc. It too is good stuff. Same material used for the group head surrounds on many Krups machines. It may be cheap-ish, but it's -good- cheap-ish. So I have no complaints about the quality of the parts or build of this Braun 3058, and while I don't know it's history, I can attest to the fact that its around 20 years old, and inside and out, looks like it came home from the store yesterday. Despite being bought used, once cleaned, there are simply no real signs of use anywhere. Even the main head gasket's as good as new. PARTS: I noticed the clear silicone gasket and shower screen used on the Braun is exactly the same thing as on my (new) Krups Bravo Type 871. Other Krup-pish parts include the very same filter basket as the 871, 963 etc., and I'm sure other things. So now I am 100 certain there is a link between these two companies. But who is making who's parts. Both Krups and Braun are German companies, both are large, both make consumer products, both have been making coffee products for ages. Braun has made more coffee machines but Krups has made more espresso makers. Yet there are still many design elements I have not seen on Krups machines, or -any-..The portafilter, for example. It's about the size of a Krups PF.First time I've seen any machine with a 100 plastic portafilter (except for the screw that holds the spout to the head). It's not bakelite, but its very solid, heat-resistant plastic.http://excelcarebydivinee.com/images/braun-convection-oven-manual.pdf Unlike my new Philips EspressoDuo steam machine, there are no signs of cracks on the PF handle. It feels like it can handle reasonable use, when locking it. It comes with an accessory that fits over the double spout, and extends the spout, so that you can pour straight into espresso cups, without losing heat. Else the main spout is designed to fit over the glass carafe it comes with. FUNCTION: In general, the Braun functions like most steam espresso machines, if you're familiar with them. Most steam machines I've used won't even have this, and you simply open the steam knob to switch to steam. The Braun has that variable steam knob also, that you need to open. But, you first have to move the switch to steam, before you can steam milk. This was a problem for me, initially. Because when the machine was on the brew selection, it would drip, drip, drip.It ruins the coffee, if you've loaded the PF. Or, it spends your water, if you haven't. Then you have nothing to brew with, by the time the temperature gets up to steam pressure. I don't know if this is part of the Braun design, or simply a problem with -my- machine. Though other steam machines I have drip water like this, and it's a PITA. You always have to remember to have a cup under the group head when you fill the boiler with water, else it will drip on the (non-removable) drip trays, that you have to then wipe with a rag. On the one hand, it might have been better if Braun had simply omitted this switch. As the more things you have, the more things you have that can break on you. On the other hand. it's a real advantage with this sort of machine. Because if you put the selector to STEAM, then it won't drip at all when you're filling the boiler, or at any time. This however means you have to keep an eye on the brewing process, and release the knob in about 3 minutes (around when the machine is making certain noises, and the boiler cap is hot).https://www.mercedesbenzofaustinservice.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/162843374a5b6f---building-a-manual-dumbwaiter.pdf I just don't know if it has some kind of protection against this sort of negligence. I then put the selector to BREW. Not only does this avoid the drips, but more importantly, it starts to brew only when the water is hot and under pressure. Not in slow drips, like other steam machines, when the water is still stone cold. As I mentioned, the machine would steam but not brew. So I had to completely disassemble it, and find out where the blockage was. DISASSEMBLING was not exactly fun. It's kind of tricky to get into, because you have to pry some pieces quite a bit. (e.g. 3 screws on the bottom, bottom has tabs to be pulled before prying it up. Once in the bottom, 3 more screws down at the bottom of that, requiring a very long screwdriver. Then one or two pieces around the steam valve need to be pried out, carefully. Then another piece under the top, near the group head, needs to have its tabs pushed and then pried out. etc. etc.). The problem was. nothing was blocked. The entire boiler was like new. It was that spring-operated selector switch. When you moved it, was not doing what its supposed to do (open a valve inside the boiler to let water out). But I was totally stumped as to -why- this assembly was not operating properly. There seemed to be nothing out of place. Not only no parts broken, but no parts -missing-. With no service manual, I could not confirm what its supposed to look like. Plus, I knew the guy I bought it from was not the type to work on a machine. And there were no signs that this machine had ever been opened (and there would be, because of how the internals are accessed), no parts rattling around inside, or that could exit the machine by themselves. So why this switch was not working was a mystery to me. But once figuring out how it works, I 'repaired' it by having to make a modification that allowed the switch to do the job of opening and closing the valve, when going from steam to brew and brew to steam.asian-autoparts.com/ckfinder/userfiles/files/700r4-transmission-manual-pdf The panarello shot right off the steam wand into the milk, and shocked the devil out of me. Because the hole in the steam wand is immense, and this meant scalding hot water was jet-fueling itself into the cup, and spraying hot water and milk all over the place. I should probably mention that I discovered this model had been recalled by Braun at one point. It's unusually fixed by clipping its two small plastic hooks into a groove in the wand, and then you pinch two tabs to pull it down off the wand. While I'm sure this sounded brilliant on paper when being presented to the execs, the problem is, it can loosen up over time and then. This was almost a dealbreaker for me.But fortunately, I'm a genius. So I had another brilliant mod idea on fixing it. I stuck toothpicks where the tabs are. This pushes the tabs outward, which creates a much more secure hold on the groove in the wand, that cannot easily shift. As a result, I've had no more experiences with the panarello flying off. Plus, the toothpicks are clean wood (so hygenic) and easily cleaned, and can easily be pulled out when the panarello needs to come off for cleaning, and easily replaced if needed. Problem solved! STEAMING: Once you're sure the panarello is not going to fly off and send steaming hot water into your face. That panarello is such an unusual design, I have not seen anything anywhere near like it, on any other machine made by anyone. It looks like a small rocket, with the tip being the steam wand. As such, its not the easiest thing to clean, unless you remove it first from the wand. And because the wand has a -large- hole (dumb idea, boys.), it simply cannot be used with this 'rocket panarello'. So break this, and you'll be frothing milk by rotating your index finger rapidly. Because if you're not lucky on eBay, you won't easily find another one like it on the internet, and because there are no threads on the wand, I don't see that an alternative tip can be fitted.https://totalyoumovement.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16284338397881---Building-a-computer-manual.pdf The panarello is used by keeping the 'rocket' right around the surface level of the milk. But do that and. wow, this thing makes latte-quality frothed milk quicker than anything I've ever tried. It seems to work better than my Solis SL-70, king of the SBDU frothers. In seconds, you have creamy, fine-bubbled micro-frothed milk, suitable for latte art. The large-bubble cappuccino froth. I'm not sure yet, but its probably doable, if you fenagle it right. TASTE: So while I bought this machine for the looks, I sought it for the taste. (I'm not interested in steam machines, 'cos I can't afford a pump one. No more than lever machine fans are interested in manual machines 'cos they can't afford a Starbucks Barista machine!). Since the Braun has the exact same filter basket as the Krups 963, 871 etc, I figured it would likely be comparable in taste. And I looooove the taste coming out of my 963. (Haven't tried the 871 yet). I can say that I've only done 3 shots so far, and I'm in the ball park.Right now, it's a question of timing (knowing how long to wait before enough pressure has built up, and hitting BREW selector), and tamping (can't tamp as hard as on the Krups, it seems). Even if they seem similar in function or parts, each machine has its own quirks you have to learn to master. CONCLUSION: Out of all the electric steam-powered espresso machines I have, the Braun is my favorite. Not just for its unique design, but for its function. Because with its unique switch, it can brew with the water at a hot temperature (albeit -too- hot like other steam-driven machines). The temperature won't be right either way, but if prepared right, then the sweet syrupy rich taste in the cup, can prove to be superior to all but manual lever-operated espresso machines that cost in the thousands! (It's absolutely the best when mixed with a bit of raw sugar and poured hot on good French Vanilla ice cream!). The Braun is, perhaps, more of a conversation piece, than anything, these days.https://www.temsilcisitesi.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16284338abe253---building-a-manual-transfer-switch.pdf For fans of industrial design, it is an amazing example of modern German industrial design, and would probably be a collector's item some day, if not today, in that respect. For fans of espresso coffee. eh. it may not be your first choice. My feeling is that once I get up to speed with it, I can probably make a cup that rivals a Krups steam-driven espresso machine (which I feel makes an espresso that's closer to lever machines. See how easy it is to make authentic espresso and cappuccino at home with a De’Longhi manual espresso machine. Whatever your preference — single or double espresso, cappuccino or latte — the manual espresso machine brews authentic barista-quality beverages just like you enjoy at your favorite coffeehouse. Water and steam are heated separately thanks to the dual thermostat system, allowing crema to reach the ultimate consistency without scalding the coffee. For milk-based beverages, the manual frother mixes steam and milk to create a rich, creamy froth for evenly textured drinks — just the way you like them. The built-in tamper provides great flavor without the guesswork, and while the cappuccino systems may vary in method (one-touch automation for a semi-automatic model, versus an advanced manual frother for a traditional pump espresso machine), the results are consistently excellent. If you want all the convenience of an attached milk steamer and espresso maker, but less of the mess, we recommend the Nespresso range, with its convenient espresso pods, just as versatile as any of our other coffee machines. Choose from a range of sleek, stylish designs, in black, red, or stainless steel. Our machines are easy to use, easy to clean and easy to fill — exactly how they’re supposed to be. There are two basic pieces to the design procedure, but of course you are able to add or change them at any moment. It is all about finding the ideal fit for your own design, which of course, the way that you design it will dictate how large or small it will be when you get it printed. Wire is possibly the most important part of a diagram, I would imagine. In fact, it's even more important than the actual wiring. When you are creating the actual wiring you want it to be accurate, but when it comes to how can I use Fritzing to earn wiring diagram, it needs to be right. You want the cable colors to look nice, you don't want to make it cluttered, and you do not want to need to go through the whole design procedure simply to redo a wire color. To find what wire colors you're likely to use initially, you have to know how many cables you are likely to need to undergo. This number will determine the entire number of colors you're going to use. Ensure you account for any present that might be operating through the wires. Since you're going to be eliminating some of the elements from the circuit, you want to make sure they are safe to do so with. The current for the wires can be controlled by the software, which lets you conduct the current into the wires without an excessive amount of current. Next, you have to take into consideration just how many elements you're going to be utilizing. This number will be important when you are choosing the best way to use Fritzing to earn wiring diagram. Obviously, you will want to take into account the power it will need, since it's going to be operating through the wires. As soon as you have decided how many cables you're going to use, how many components, and how many colors you're going to want, you need to decide on the colors. Based on the circuit which you're working on, you'll find that there are tools that will help you out. Should you want a particular color and you're unsure what you need to pick, you can ask your pc exactly what the choices are, and it will help you choose the best one. So now you realize how many wires you are going to need and the number of components you're going to want, you can create your wiring diagram. Most people simply visit the editing toolbar and draw out the circuit by themselves. Others are going to use the layout tools and simply copy and paste the procedure into the design editor. Either way, it is fairly straightforward and easy to do. As soon as you've drawn out the wire layout you're going to be using, you can now select the document and use theprint button. Then all you have to do is click on thePublish button. You can then take the file to the website you wish to print it out of, and there are lots of printers on the market that you are able to pick from. Once you've printed the wiring diagram, you can start using it. Hopefully that has given you some idea about how best to use Fritzing to earn wiring diagram. Take your time and be creative, and you need to be able to acquire your cable diagrams done right away.13 Dec 2017 Adding accents is easy now, thanks to improved keyboard controls on nearly every device.
