It is very quiet, perhaps too quiet. If you aren't the one who started the dishwasher you will at some point accidentally open it. The light that lets you know it is running is not very visible. The adjustable racks don't stay in place very well. We had one wine glass break during cleaning, that never happened in 13 years with our other dishwasher.
