Taking the front dash apart was probably the most difficult part. The wiring itself only took a few minutes and some wire crimps, the wires were even pre-stripped. I would recommend this to anyone with a 2004-2007 malibu looking to install an aftermarket deck.It mentioned that it was required for installation. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to get it installed, it was then I found out that this Interface isn't nessasary to have, the return date had passed.I don’t care if. If you have a base Cobalt, the message center is up on the pod cluster and no under the radio or integrated into the radio, you do not need this.It was worth the price over just cutting and then splicing the wires.Simple set up. Warning chimes work just like they did before I replaced my factory stereo.
