These settings will vary according to elevation. Many areas have an excess of minerals in the water which results in what is commonly called hard water. These minerals tend to adhere to the insides of heater coils and other parts of the machines causing damage and a loss of cleaning effectiveness. This influences the reliability and efficiency of equipment in direct proportion to the level of hardness. HARD WATER ADVISORY HydraMaster recognizes that any hard water deposits which might occur within the water system of our truckmounts is a serious problem. The precision technology of truckmount heat exchanger systems is intolerant of any foreign material. Hard water deposits will ultimately decrease the performance of the system and are expected to seriously lower the reliability of the machine. I'm not a mechanic, and don't know the ins and outs, but given us a lot of trouble. However, it is functioning now. Didn't know about the poor reputation for support, though. The problem however can not be placed only on HM, it is also Briggs. Briggs stopped making the engine and HM essentially had no choice but to stop production, this is also making it somewhat difficult to deal with engine problems. Personally we have had a 427 in operation for 4ish years now and it has almost 4000 hours on it, knock on wood no major problems. A little product testing would avoid this stuff happening all the time. I've replaced voltage regulator, coupler, was in shop to replace head gasket and heads and they discovered a crack in one of the cylinders. It is toast and they are having a hard time finding a replacement. I think hydramaster really blew it on this model, should have been recalls or something to make things right. I don't think I would get another hydramaster unit if they won't stand behind what they sell. I guess we'd be talking to a lawyer. This would be a solid month without jobs and letting our customers down. I really hope you have a backup. I'm not sure if I believe that, but it's the best possible scenario without involving lawyers. I agree hydramaster has let its customers down on this one. I don't think this will happen without a lot of pressure on hydramaster from their customers. I couldn't imagine paying 20K for anything else and only expecting it to work for a couple years. I kind of think they're just trying to ride this one out until the machines go out of warranty. I seriously considered talking to a lawyer about what is necessary for a class action lawsuit. Unit 2 I bought new and it has 350 hours, at 150 he's coolant heat exchanger cracked bubbles through anti freeze overflow, pressure pump seals failed, engine water pump has small leak from weep since 100 he's. One unit float in water box failed,new unit had silicone in Carb needle and seat causing flooding same silicone used on other areas from HM. Pressure regulator, spring broke causing major swings in psi. Chemical pump on older unit needed diaphragm replaced. Heat control circuit failed twice. On the flip side units look professional and high tech. Our replacement machines in future must be based on proven design and strong long term serviceability. The Hydramaster Co. site requires the machine serial number before I can see the user manual on their site. I would like to be somewhat familiar with its operation, so I can test the machine out. Just make sure it's the serial number for the machine and not for the engine. The engine will also likely have a plate with a serial number, but it will be located on the engine and not on the machines' frame. My Boxxer 421 serial number is on a metal plate which is on the left side of the machine facing it from the front and is lower down on the frame. It may be different on the 427, I don't know, but it should have a similar plate with the serial number stamped on it somewhere that should be pretty easy to find. I have keep up on maintenance and service it every 3000 miles, just had a tune up 2000 miles ago. 185k miles, drive it everyday and I would trust this van to drive anywhere. Installed is a hydramaster Boxxer 427 with 2600 hours, machine is serviced regularly and runs great, new pump last year. Just had the injection pump rebuilt and everything else works awesome. High heat around 230 degrees and suction is awesome with fast dry times.I listed it as USED because it has been attached to the machine. However it was NEVER USED because I do not run chemical through my machine. I took it off and has been sitting in my shop for a couple of years. These list for around 300 dollars. The Truck mount is a boxxer 427 with 3000 hours on it, this is a very hot running machine and can clean at 225 degrees all day. Suction is awesome it has the 4007 blower and I have run dual wand with this machine with no problems. We change the engine oil and filter every 50-75 hours and the blower and pump every 200. Really is a great machine and I am really only selling it to make room for another rig.
