Celebrating those manufacturers that “can still see the beauty of the manual transmission,” Stewart’s top 20 includes five vehicles from FCA. The only transmission offered in this venomous little beauty is a six-speed manual. Not for the faint of heart, Stewart describes the Viper as “a brutally quick beast that’s a little bit frightening.” Or tame the scorpion and maximize your mpg on the open road. You can have so much more fun and feel the 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque with every shift of the gears in a six-speed manual. And there’s something about pure, American muscle that begs for a manual transmission. Today, Ram is the only manufacturer to offer this option. Will it win a race? No. But according to Stewart, when equipped with the 350-hp Cummins diesel, the G56 six-speed manual transmission and 4WD, the Ram “feels like it could climb a wall.” Chrysler Capital does not endorse, and is not responsible, for their content, links, privacy or security policies. For the 2018 model year, Jeep released two versions of its classic Wrangler model to give drivers more options depending on their wants and needs. The Wrangler JL is a sportier model that offers more off-road customizations, while the Wrangler JK offers a refined, comfortable ride while maintaining classic Jeep features. Both models offer updates and new features for the 2018 model year. The iconic Wrangler body style and design are generally the same, with details differentiating between the two versions. Let's take a closer look at the features and differences between the Jeep Wrangler JL vs Jeep Wrangler JK.The Jeep Wrangler JL is the sportier Wrangler model for drivers that want a Wrangler that can take them off-road on any adventure. The JL is about 200 pounds lighter than the JK and has styling that gives off a more aggressive vibe, like a sharper raked front grille and a rubber bump stop on the windshield that allows you to lower the windshield. This and a convertible option allow you to open up your Wrangler JL so that you can truly be one with nature. The Wrangler JK has more refined features to be more of an everyday-driver type of vehicle while still maintaining classic Jeep features and capabilities. The Jeep Wrangler JK offers a standard 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine that is coupled with either a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. The Wrangler JL also offers this engine, but has two additional engine options for drivers to choose from. The first is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and the second is a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. The JL also has an 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission option. Shortly after receiving the 300C we purchased a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT with a manual transmission. We used the Challenger as a donor for all of the parts needed for the conversion. The 300C had 88k miles on when we received it, and the Challenger had 30k on it. This 300 has been inspected by the Ohio Highway State Patrol and now carries a fully insurable and transferable rebuilt title. The title will read as ” not actual mileage” The VIN from the donor 2009 Challenger is 2B3LJ74W59H538110. We then removed driveline to tear the engine down for a build. The transmission used is the stock Challenger Tremec TR-6060, that has been fit with a Hurst shifter. The awesome exhaust tone heard on this 300 is due to the American racing long tubes, high flow cats, and Corsa cat back exhaust that we installed. The growl heard high in the RPM range really compliments this Chrysler’s attitude. After the build, and before the car hit the street, it was taken to the dyno shop to get fine tuned where it put down a very solid 444whp and 415ft-lbs All of the jambs, trunk pan, under-hood, inside of doors, etc were professionally painted. We painted this vehicle to make sure it looked like it came B5 blue from the factory. The underside of the vehicle and wheel wells have been covered with a light undercoating mixed with B5 Blue for rust prevention and sound deadening. We also added our logo in matte black over the gloss on the quarters for a subtle personal touch. The aftermarket grille was also painted gloss black after it was smoothed down to give the front end a seamless look. The taillights have been tinted and the outside trim and door mirrors have been painted gloss black to compliment the paint scheme of the 300. The touch screen navigation with internal hard drive is fully functional. The Kicker sound system sounds great, and is complete with the sub mounted truck. The suspension has also been upgraded with Hotchkis sway bars in both the front and rear. This 300C is equipped with the Challenger SRT manual trans 3.92 ratio Getrag limited slip rear differential. The calipers and rotors provide a beautiful contrast to the Brass Monkey painted OEM Lightweight Scat Pack wheels that we used on this vehicle. The wheels were painted in house, and were color matched to a stock Hellcat Brass Money wheel. This car starts, runs, drives and stop just like it should. There are no warning lights on and no codes being thrown. This car is a true head turner, and that is before the onlookers get close enough to see the shifter or that third pedal hiding down there. We will be converting this clean title 2008 300C SRT8 to a 6 speed manual. This 6 speed 4 door LX will be one of a kind with some added goodies. Stay tuned to watch this build come together from start to finish. When shes done, she will be offered for sale. Scroll down to see the build progress in chronological order. We started by gutting the interiors of both the 300C and the Challenger, as well as dropping the engines and transmissions out of both vehicles. We then carefully removed the console brackets and tunnels from both vehicles as the actual tunnel from the Challenger will be transplanted into the 300. This is necessary to insure proper fitment of the trans, console, and other related parts. Stay tuned to see the new drive-line all cleaned up and the manual tunnel fit into the 300. We also dropped the entire rear suspension from the Challenger to transplant into the 300C, giving the vehicles the correct gear set for the transmission. We scuffed and gloss painted the rails and firewall. We also repaired a few small dents in the trunk pan area and finished the repairs with paint. The 3.92 ratio rear suspension was kit with KW suspension and it bolted in the car. Both the Challenger and 300 have to be stripped of wiring. You can see the dash harness being swapped here. We started work on the 6.1L that will be going in the 300c by taking off the intake to paint and taking the trans off for clutch install. The VES console allows whoever is sitting in the backseat the luxury of watching DVD’s from the flip up screen. We also began the process of finding a new home for the “Chrysler” emblem on the decklid. Also, you can see the clutch pedal set up and custom under dash wiring. The rear seats, front seats, complete dash assembly and headliner also were placed in. Valve covers and door trim all received fresh coats of paint. The calipers begun being stripped down for paint. Also, the 6.1L HEMI intake manifold gets a bit of a different look, with a metallic black look. The last half of pictures shows the color we chose, which is a very popular Mopar color, Striker Green. Here is another paint update, this time with the complete car. You will see we had to strip the car down, remove the fenders, rocker panels, front bumper reinforcement and header panel. More paint pictures to come as she goes along. Also, the grille and and front bumper cover begin to get painted. The grille gets painted and the car has some finishing touches put on her before shes ready for sale. For the letter series of cars from the 1950s and 1960s, see Chrysler 300 letter series. Also see 300 (disambiguation). The Chrysler 300 was designed as a modern interpretation of the Chrysler C-300 (and the letter series Chryslers that followed), featuring a large grille, long hood and low roofline that was prominent on those vehicles. The styling retained many elements of the 1998 Chrysler Chronos concept car, such as chrome interior accents and tortoiseshell finishings on the steering wheel and shifter knob.It uses a 2,736 cc (2.736 L; 167.0 cu in) EER V6 making 190 hp (142 kW). In Canada, it comes standard with the Touring model's 3,518 cc (3.5 L; 214.7 cu in) V6 engine. The vehicle comes with standard rear wheel drive and available all wheel drive.Additional features included 18-inch chrome-clad aluminium wheels, anti-roll bars. When all eight cylinders are needed, the 300C can produce 340 hp (254 kW) and 390 lb?ft (529 N?m) of torque. It uses a five-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with 18-inch chrome-clad alloy wheels, Chrysler's MyGIG Infotainment System in 2008 and SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Backseat Television in 2008. The HEMI cylinder heads necessitate the use of a double rocker arm shaft configuration, with a cam-in-block, overhead valve (OHV) pushrod design. The economical Mercedes-based V6 diesel was popular in Europe, where gasoline prices are high. The five-door station wagon bodystyle was discontinued after the first generation. It added 6 inches (152 mm) to the rear passenger compartment.Options included a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and 20-inch polished-aluminium wheels. The 6.4 392 Hemi engine is also used in other Chrysler Group SRT vehicles. This Special Edition Chrysler 300 was designed by Mopar Performance to mark Mopar's 75th anniversary. Featuring a 3:91 gear ratio, sport-tuned suspension, and unique badging, only 500 Mopar Edition 300's were made. Based on the Chrysler 300S, the Glacier Edition adds signature details not found on other Chrysler 300 models. The Motown Edition is a tribute to the Motown genre of music.Inside, the Interior Sport Appearance Package adds perforated leather performance seats with suede bolsters and new interior accents and materials. Both seat-mounted and curtain side airbags were standard.Changes include:Archived from the original on 2 May 2018. Retrieved 1 May 2018. Retrieved 8 August 2011. Im buying a 300c SRT for myself, the only problem is I dont like automatics. And working where I work, I have any part I could possibly need for the swap from the 300 or the Challenger. Let me know, thanks in advance. -TomBest of luck to you. Those 6 speeds are nice.Your website does not get the job done.Theres a Challenger 6 Speed on the way, and it looks like im going to be buying this 300 we have had for sale. We've done some good swaps, and some interesting ones. I know we could do it, just wondering if anyone could lead me into it. We also are setting up doing this to an SRT8 Jeep. Best way to get ahold is to call 866-236-5031 for anyone wondering -TomIf teh rear end is not killed in the chally, you can swap the rear, shafts and hubs over, maybe part of the drive shaft as well, to get the gears for the car. We have a very very steep 1st gear in the NAg1 5 speed vs the 1st gear in the 6 speed. -RobertIt Goes Zooooom Cecil Burnouts Did they revive the project?Feedback Buttons provided by. This transmission featured an unique automatic transmission calibration with revised shift schedules, faster shift times, and an AutoStick driver control system that allowed the driver to manually go through the gears. The NAG1 proved to be a very well built transmission that could not only handle the abuse a lot of SRT8 owners would throw at them but would remain reliable for years and thousands of miles later. While the NAG1 automatic was great for most, there were the occasional few that questioned why there was no 6 speed manual transmission offered on the LX platform 300, Magnum or Charger. The designers at SRT seemed to avoid the question and never really answered as to why it wouldn’t happen. Would there finally be a 6 speed manual transmission Charger or 300. It seemed many really wanted a manual Hellcat Charger; after all, it would be pretty cool. Finally, SRT and Dodge came out of the woodwork and explained why there wasn’t and probably would never be a manual transmission Charger or 300 and it was simple; money. When you have to redesign that much of the structure and floor, Dodge would be required to do a whole new set of full impact and crash safety certification tests for the car. This would obviously be big bucks, and the pencil pushers upstairs at FCA just didn’t think it was worth it. They couldn’t foresee enough manual transmission Chargers or 300s selling to justify the massive efforts and funds it would take to make it happen. That being said, they told everyone a manual transmission Charger or 300 just wasn’t going to happen. It’s just too invasive. While there has been less than a handful of these conversions done, it’s never been done on a 300 SRT8. That is until now. Cleveland Power And Performance was originally called Cleveland Pick A Part as they buy wrecked modern high performance cars and part them out. Everything you need for a swap is ready to ship on a pallet. Over the past few years, they’ve been rebuilding a lot of lightly damaged cars for resale and changed their name to Cleveland Power And Performance. They decided since nobody has put a 6 speed manual in a SRT8 300 yet, they would be the first. They have documented the entire build (which includes the modifications to the body to get the 6 speed manual to fit) on their Facebook page and the result is a very sweet one-off B5 Blue painted stunner. Rolling on a set of Charger Scat Pack wheels, this 300 is sure to draw a crowd. On Christmas of 1998, Cody's parents gave him a rusty '69 Charger shell that his father saved from a field. Cody can truly and proudly say him and his wife are true Mopar nuts in love with all types of Mopars.
