Bushnell Telescope User Manual Free Full DjvuRemove the two nuts located near the front of the telescope (closet to the eyepiece) and place the Finderscope and bracket assembly over the exposed screws. Replace the nuts, and securely tighten the Finderscope and bracket assembly in place. However, this is normal and becomes unimportant as you view objects in the night sky. Some recommended sources appear on our website at www.bushnell.com. Also on our website will be current events in the sky for suggested viewing. Your Bushnell Telescope is now ready to be used. To obtain the fullest enjoyment from your telescope, please refer to the additional information below.Barlow lenses are used to double or triple the power of your telescope. Place your Barlow between the focusing tube and the eyepiece. Using the example above, your 3x Barlow lens would give you a total power of 105x or 105 power. Students and amateur astronomers can all use this telescope for observations of planets, galaxies and other astronomical phenomena. When you purchase a Bushnell telescope, you will need to assemble some of the parts before you can begin observing the skies. Read the included instructions, matching the diagram with the parts in your box. If you can not find the instruction manual, you can access it online (see Resources). Set up the telescope’s tripod. Loosen then tighten the screws on the legs to extend and lock the legs. Make sure the screws are tight enough to hold the telescope steady (any wobbling will ruin your observations) but loose enough for quick adjustments. Remove the telescope from its cradle and fasten the cradle's equatorial mount in place using the provided wing nuts. Return the telescope to the cradle and tighten the screws securely. The nuts and screws should be tight, but avoid tightening them to the point of damaging the parts. Connect and adjust the finderscope. The finderscope is a low-magnification scope attached to the upper part of the telescope. The Bushnell 565 telescope has a finderscope with a battery-operated sighting light. Make sure this feature works by aligning the finderscope with a prominent object during daylight. Attach the accessory tray to the accessory tray braces on the tripod legs. Use the provided bolts and wing nuts. Attach the adjustment cables and knobs to the equatorial mount. Tighten the silver screws at the point of attachment until they are snug. Turn the cables and knobs to make sure they move the telescope correctly. Insert the eyepiece into the telescope tube. Tighten the screws alongside the eyepiece hole to fit the lens snugly into the tube. Things You'll Need Bushnell 565 telescope Instruction manual Tips For the Bushnell 565 telescope, the eyepieces have focal lengths of eight, 12.5 and 20 millimeters, giving basic magnifications of 94x, 60x and 37.5x. For the highest magnification, use the eight millimeter eyepiece in conjunction with the 3x Barlow lens. This is the only way to get the maximum 565x magnification. Warnings Objects seen through a refracting telescope are upside-down, due to the lens optics. Use the 1.5x erecting lens to view objects right-side-up. You will get 50 percent more magnification and will not have to view inverted objects as in the other lenses. Do not attempt to observe the sun through your telescope. Even at the lowest magnification, this can cause serious eye damage in a short amount of time.http://www.otk-alfamos.ru/userfiles/crate-powerblock-manual.xml References Telescope Review and Description Bushnell Telescope Manual About the Author Laurel Brown has several years experience as an educator and a writer. Page 5 Selecting an Eyepiece: 1.https://www.thebiketube.com/acros-electrolux-arthur-martin-user-manual-3 You should always start viewing with the lowest power eyepiece, which in this case is the 20mm lens. Note: the base power of each eyepiece is determined by the focal length of the telescope objective lens, which for this model is 750 mm. Tighten Cradle Lock Knobs. The telescope is now balanced. UNDERSTANDING THE EQUATORIAL MOUNT The Equatorial Mount is designed to move in any direction. It can be set to allow manual controls to track the movements of celestial bodies across the sky. This is referred to as diurnal movement; movement of celestial bodies in the direction opposite to that of the earth’s rotation and around the earth’s axis. Page 7 craters jump out at you due to the highlights. Similarly, you can move up to higher magnifications on the planets and nebulae. Star clusters and stars are best viewed through the low power no matter what. 4. The recurring astronomical theater we call the night sky is an ever-changing billboard. In other words, not the same movie plays all the time. Rather, the positions of the stars change not only hourly as they seem to rise and set, but also throughout the year. Page 8 Venus--just like the moon, Venus changed phases from month to month. Some views of brilliant Venus appear as if you were looking at a distant crescent moon. Nebulae--The Great Orion Nebula is a very well known night sky object. This and many others are brought to you by this telescope. Star Clusters--View millions of stars densely packed in a cluster that resembles a ball. Galaxies--One of the greatest and most interesting galaxies is our neighbor the Andromeda Galaxy. Enjoy this and many others. Page 10 Telescope LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY Your telescope is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner. The red dot finderscope that came with it doesn't seem to be working either. When you see it in view, adjust the finderscope so the red dot is in the middle of the object your pointing it. Eyepiece lies snuggly into the barrel, where there are focusing knobbies. My troubles with the first use ever of my telescope, was being unable to point at the right things with my red dot finderscope. I intuitively used the moon. It's so bright, you don't need to look through the eyepiece to know it's pointed at the moon. Also, realizing everything was fuzzy because I wasn't using the focusing knobs. My scope is a tabletop altazimuth-mount dobsonian. If you have an equatorial mount, It's much trickier to set up, and I have no experience with those to help you. You'll want to make sure the scope and the finder are aligned properly, of you won't be able to find anything when looking between the two. I suggest you use something terrestrial to align them, like a distant lamp post of corner of a building. The moon would work, but it still moves fairly quickly across your field of view, so you'd get a better alignment with something that isn't moving relative to the telescope. When focusing, remember to turn the knobs slowly. Remember you're looking at tiny points of light and they can be tough to get into focus. Which Bushnell Voyager telescope do you own. With all-metal optical tube assembly, high-quality glass optic objectives for crisp clear views, full-length variable height tripods, metal yoke mounting systems, all-metal accessory trays, rack and pinion focusing mechanisms and patented universal coding system, they can help you take a voyage to hundreds of far-away galaxies, learn about the moons of Jupiter, and explore the craters of the Moon. Meticulously engineered, the advanced optics of Bushnell Telescopes deliver amazing detail and will keep viewers enjoying the wonders of the universe for many years to come. For example, a 500mm telescope with a 5mm eyepiece would magnify objects 100x. Thus, a telescope can provide nearly any magnification required depending on the focal length of the eyepiece used. Objective Lens Size (or Aperture): The size of the telescope?s objective lens, or aperture, limits the amount of power that can be used effectively. As the magnification of an object increases, the brightness of the image decreases. This is because the light gathered by the telescope is being spread over a larger area. Focal Length: The measured light path of the optical system (tube length), typically measured in millimeters. Yoke Mount: A u-shaped altaz mount. Altaz mounts move up-down and left-right. Finderscope: On most astronomical telescopes a lower powered finderscope with a wider field of view lets the user quickly locate the object to be viewed by the high-magnification main telescope. Mallon 4.0 out of 5 stars I didn't want to spend too much money and have her use it once. Easy to setup (comes in many pieces) and use. Comes with extra different size scopes. I have to say. I few mfg. screws fell out (the ones needed to hold it to the stand). We easily replaced them with a slightly wider screw and it hasn't been a problem. Stand Height is adjustable. Doesn't fold up unless you take the support stand off (held on with screws). It has a good view.I recommend it for a beginner or young child. You get what you are paying for.Once received realized had missing parts. Very disappointed in this order. It's just a not-so-cheap toy. I have purchased this for my father-in-law. First: the manual is just a piece of junk. It does not offer you any detail about how to do anything. The quality of the finish is awful: I could barely turn the adjustment screws of the finder - with a plier. The eyepieces are not that bad (the 20mm is fine and sharp), but the complete assembly is totally inadequate. But THE WORST IS THE TRIPOD and MOUNT. It's an altazimuthal with no tracking controls. Once you can find the object (forget the finder: impossible to align, worse image ever, very dark, not directionally correct), whenever you can focus (not hard on the 20mm, but nearly impossible on the 5mm due to a lack of fine focusing), it's just a challenge to center the object on the eyepiece. The earth is rotating, and you can get about 45 seconds of observation before your target disappears on the 20mm eyepiece (about 4 times less with the 5mm). I take about 3 minutes finding a planet, then it's a real pain to keep observing it. The optics are not bad, but you have a very limited aperture (60mm lenses), which will have you to look at the moon, planets and that's all.And a better focuser and diagonal. It's just too sloppy and loose to give any decent observation. For about the same price, you can get a mini-dob table-top reflector with 4 times more aperture area (remember that a 120mm disc has about 4 times more area than a 60mm disc). Here's why: 1. The objective is too small, only 60 mm, 2.36 inches, so it is too small to bring in the light necessary for even a beginning look at the universe. I suppose it is adequate for the moon, but that is it. The planets will appear as very small disks. One will be able to see Saturn's rings, but the image will be very small. Forget it for deep sky objects, clusters, galaxies, etc. 2. The mount is an altazimuth, which will not follow the celestial object in the sky. The earth is rotating, and anyone focusing on a star or moon will quickly find the object drifting out of the field of vision. Even for the low price, don't be enticed by this scope; it has too many flaws. Save your money for a larger scope with a better mount. koneI’m ready to go to the next step. It went to the curb for trash pick up just the other day. Junk is what it is. I was so excited to have a new back deck this summer and use the telescope with my boys. Tried for about 2 hours and wasn't worth my time.BABYBASKETSONLINE.COM/userfiles/files/Drystar-5500-Manual.pdf The view finder was no help. We saw more without the lenses in. Don't wast your money.I think it would be better for a person to buy a 4.5 inch reflector with a Dobsian mount for just a few bucks more. This version of the Voyager Sky Tour features a classic refractor design with a 70 mm aperture, appropriate for observing the moon, five planets, and a nice collection of galaxies. The telescope and the handset have no tethered connection; instead, after setting the telescope on level ground and pointing it in the direction of its built-in compass, you enter the date, time, and location to the Sky Tour handset. Knowing the telescope is level and pointing at the proper starting point is all the Sky Tour handset needs - based on combining this information with your inputted date, time, and locale, it tells you where to place the controls of the telescope to easily see planets, galaxies and other celestial treats. The mount's altitude and azimuth dials are illuminated in red, helping guide you without diminishing your night-adapted eyesight. The Standard edition is legal for use in tournaments in most cases. The Slope edition, which is not tournament-legal, uses a built-in inclinometer to take into account differences in elevation between your current location on the course and your target. Its light weight and compact dimensions (4.3 x 2.8 x 1.6 inches) make it a breeze to carry around with you on the course. It fits nicely in the pocket, so it doesn’t need to be kept in the cart or your golf bag between uses, which is a nice convenience. The upper range limit is attainable with highly reflective targets. The unit accurately determines the yardage to trees up to about 600 yards. In PinSeeker mode, an accurate distance to the flag can be obtained regardless of whether the pin is fitted with a reflective prism.
