After buying a second rifle with a high powered scope, I decided to go back to a holographic reflex sight on my first rifle and this sight has been in storage since. There are a few spots on the finish where I used a black Sharpie to cover very minor scuffs. Most of the scuffs were along the edges of knobs and where there when I bought it new. The little glints of silver showing through it's solid matte black finish bothered me so I colored them in. You can only see the Sharpie marks if you hold the scope under good lighting and look at it at an angle as they are slightly less matte than the surrounding finish.Each end of the scope has a built in. Iris-style lens cover that opens and closes by rotating it. The one on the front of the scope doubles as a glare reducer as you can partially close it and still use the scope. At 1X magnification you can almost close it completely and still have a clear sight picture. The higher you turn up the magnification the more you have to open the front iris, however, even at 3X(max) magnification, the iris can be about half closed, making it excellent at reducing glare and scope glint.
