This tiny flame is used to light bigger ones on your stovetop burners and oven. Occasionally, that light can go off, whether it’s because it’s covered in debris, a draft or other gust of wind has blown it out, or you have an older over that’s gotten finnecky over time. When that happens, the burners and the oven will not ignite, which means you can’t cook your food. If it does smell like gas, make sure both then oven and the burners are turned off, and open the windows to ventilate the kitchen before addressing the problem. If you’ve got it, refer to the appliance manual for instructions. If it does smell like gas, make sure both then oven and the burners are turned off, and open the windows to ventilate the kitchen before addressing the problem. If you’ve got it, refer to the appliance manual for instructions. If not, continue. Maybe set them in the sink to soak. Now would be a good time to clean them, because why not. See: How To Clean Enameled Cast Iron Stove Grates Or your drip trays will be removable to reveal the workings of the stovetop. In the middle of each of those pipes is the pilot port, the opening where, when things are working properly, you’ll see a little blue flame there called the pilot light. If you see anything, wipe it up gently with your microfiber cloth. A small blue flame should shoot up. You did it! Your burners should ignite just fine now. If not, continue. If you don’t see it inside the oven, it could be in the back of the broiler compartment. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the area. Light your lighter or match and hold it near the hole. The pilot light should light immediately. She loves lattes, jogging and hanging out at the playground with her husband and daughters. Other pilot lights only burn while the oven is on. If you have this kind of appliance, light the pilot each time you want to use the oven. When you move into your new home, ask the previous owner whether to light the pilot each time or only as a troubleshooting procedure if the flame goes out. If the oven's pilot light is designed to burn constantly and has blown out for some reason, you will leave the dial in this position while you light the flame. Consult the owner's manual, if you have it, to locate the pilot light. It may be in the front and center of the oven or in one of the back corners. Open the broiler door if you can't find the pilot hole in the oven's main compartment. Look for the pilot hole in the base of the broiler. If you can't find it there either, remove the broiler carriage and look for a labeled hole in the back of the empty broiler compartment. Light a long match. Hold the flame beside the opening of the pilot hole. If the pilot is designed to burn constantly, it should light. If the oven is designed to be manually lit for each use, turn the temperature dial on slowly. The gas should ignite. Remove your hand and the match immediately. Replace the broiler carriage if you removed it. Close the broiler compartment and the oven door. Things You Will Need Oven owner's manual Long matches Warning If you smell gas in your kitchen, it might be a sign that the pilot light in your oven has gone out. Turn off the gas and ventilate the kitchen, then turn the gas back on and relight the pilot. Do not light the pilot while the kitchen is contaminated with gas. Once in the cart, assembling the rest of your barbeque is very straight forward. Prepare For Assembly Start by unpacking the carton. Side Burner Trivet Open the lid of the side burner. Place the trivet over the burner so it sits in place. Your barbeque is now ready to connect up to gas. Note that RQT burners are designed for exceptional cooking under a grill and not use a rock tray or flame tamer. There is no need to cure any of these cooking surfaces as is required with regular cast iron. With the hood closed and the barbeque pre-heated, its important to then turn some burners to low and others to off in order to not overheat the barbeque which could result in increased temperature hazards and burning your food. Ensure you replace it with a hose and regulator purchased from Barbeques Galore to ensure proper gas connection compatibility. The dimensions of your barbeque will differ depending on the exact frame design and how many burners you have, according to the following chart. Please note that we are continually updating our barbeques, so these specifications may change over time. Ultimately, anything you can cook in the kitchen, you can cook on your barbeque. More Information Need more information or assistance in any way. You can call your Barbeques Galore store where barbeque experts will be happy to help you. Just phone.
