Also, you must first remove the Toner Cartridges, Waste Toner Pack, Oil Bottle and Fusing Unit to avoid spills. Place the Lower Tray Unit on a flat surface. Adjust the Anchor Feet, located at the rear and right hand side at the bottom of the Lower Tray Unit, to level the tray unit. The Anchor Foot moves up and down as it is turned. Use two people to lift the printer and place it onto the Lower Tray Unit. Be sure to use the handholds located at the bottom four corners of the printer. Check to ensure that the pins align correctly into the printer. Install the covers on both sides of the Lower Tray Unit. Install the covers by fitting them first to the rear of the printer and then fit the cover into the front of the printer. Fig. 6-7 Fig. 6-8. Install the Paper Cassette into the printer.Pull the Cassette out half way, slightly lift it, and then pull the cassette from the printer. Remove the jammed paper and reinstall the cassette into the printer. Turn the printer off, and then unplug the power cord from the AC outlet. Push down lightly on the caps and slide them to the rear of the printer to remove them. Use the handholds of the Duplex Unit to lift the Duplex Unit up. Open the Duplex Cover Top Assembly. Securely connect the Duplex Unit and the Printer with the thumb screws (2 pieces). Close the Duplex Cover Top Assembly. When you want to upgrade to more than 320 Mbytes, you will need to remove the already installed 64 Mbytes DIMM and replace it with a higher capacity DIMM. Unpack the DIMM and hold it by its edges. Caution Do not touch the memory chips and the surface of the main controller board. If static electricity collects, it may damage these electrical parts. When any one of the following messages appear, the printer will stop operating. Error Message. NO TR ROLLER Install the transfer roller. ILLEGAL TONER Use only Brother genuine toner cartridge. Add more memory. PRINT OVERRUN Select a lower resolution or set the page protection option in the driver to the correct size. Wait a few seconds, and then turn the printer on again. If this does not clear the problem, consult your dealer or Brother Authorized Service Representative. Wait a few sensor error seconds, and then turn it on again. Transfer roller Turn off the printer. Wait a few solenoid error seconds, and then turn it on again. Wait 15 minutes, and then turn it on again. Turn off the printer. Wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again. Turn off the printer. Paper Jam If paper jams inside the printer, it will stop printing and display the following message.Locate the jam, and then follow the instructions below to remove the jammed paper. Remove the jammed paper by holding it with both hands and pulling it slowly toward you. Close the Rear Access Cover. It might stain your hands or clothes. Remove the jammed paper. Re-install the Paper Cassette. Open the Rear Access Cover and check that there is no more jammed paper inside. If you see a jammed piece of paper through the viewing window, push the paper down. If you find a jammed piece of paper, remove it. If you cannot find the jammed paper, open the Inside Unit by holding the handles and pulling it toward the rear.
