Disclaimer Printer cleaning is successful 90 of the time, but does require a supply of fresh ink and carries a small risk of damage to the printer. As such, we recommend using cleaning when other methods (such as the inbuilt cleaning function) have already been tried, and when the printer has no functional use unless fixed.COYLBOD Videos for related products 2:34 Click to play video Print head cleaning method for Epson printer.Wear eye protection during use. GaryG 3.0 out of 5 stars After a few days I lost the cleaning solution bottle so I thought what the heck, don't have anything to loose so I tried the same procedure using ordinary window cleaner (since the cleaning solution smells more or less like window cleaner). Still no luck. After a few more days, and shopping for new a new printer, I tried one more last-ditch effort using straight, undiluted 70 warmed-up isopropyl alcohol following the same procedure as before, only this time it worked!! After cleaning with alcohol I ran a few test prints of the solid-color PDFs referenced in the kit (you can find these test prints easily on your own) to get the ink flowing. Seems my print head had an especially bad clog (maybe since I was using 3rd party ink to reduce the cost). Lots of people out there probably wouldn't recommend straight alcohol but it worked in my case and did not damage the printer which has continued to work without any problems for 3 weeks now.http://www.onekaddy.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16347bbc168440---daewoo-g25e-3-manual.pdf For the cost of this kit you get a 10 ML syringe with a semi-flexible tube that resembles silicone fuel tubing used for glow fuel powered RC aircraft (although silicon tubing is softer and might even work better). You also get a small bottle of cleaning liquid that is probably worth about 25 cents at most, and some 5 cent gloves that I didn't use. You also get some pretty good instructions that give you the courage to go where you've never gone before with your printer which is injecting foreign fluids into your printer's ink lines and print head. At first I was extremely careful but in the end, not having much to loose, just loaded it with alcohol and it cleared what was apparently dried ink clogging the print head.My yellow kept messing up, and print head clean would not fix it. I bought this kit and watched some videos online on how to complete the task. After the first time, I was all in. I used more fluid then kit says and modified on how I completed the task. The second time, I loaded 3ml into the syringe and injected 2mls out of the print head. Then I sucked all fluid back into the syringe, emptied and sucked the rest out also until print head supply tubes were empty. Thick gooey pockets of yellow came out. WOW. Then I loaded another 5ml and pushed it back into the print tubes and into the print head. Then I loaded some more until the print head produce clear fluids. Then loaded a new yellow and started to print solid yellow large blocks unit the clear fluid was gone. When the yellow was back, I performed the print head clean 3 times and I was back printing. Now I feel like a expert at print head cleaning. REMEMBER. If you do not turn off your printer, the newer printer automatically clean their own heads every so often if no one has been printing. This helps with print head success.Everything you need is in the kit.almost. Kit comes with two sheets of blotter paper, which isn't really enough, if you're printer is like mine and VERY clogged.www.fuelignitethrive.com/files/Differential-Equations-And-Linear-Algebra-Third-Edition-Stephen-Goode-Solutions-Manual.pdf But, considering the price of the kit, it's understandable. I used the square paper towels you find at industrial supply houses. Take the square, which is folded to like 4 layers thick, and without unfolding it, just cut it into strips. Only problem with a COLOR laser printer is they don't do photos, as far as I know, but do graphs, etc just fine. ALSO-In attempting to clean this printer using the cleaning program on-board, I wiped out most of my brand new color cartridges-So I'd recommend not running a cleaning cycle more than twice. You can also NOT clean individual colors, at least on this printer-It's either a black only, or all color cycle. Will update once I determine if the process was successful or not. IF it doesn't work for you, don't blame the kit. It's a well thought out and 95 complete kit.But some printers may just be stubborn and have too much dried ink that perhaps can't be washed away with even 2 or 3 cleanings. Only change I'd say they might be able to make is if there was a way to put a TRAY under the print head to catch more ink and not be reliant on paper that can soak through and beyond. And yes, this MAY have happened because I used too much solution too quickly. You might want to just do 4 mils at a time, then wait for all the ink to dry before doing it again.BUT, that can take a LONG TIME. Only other problem I foresee is you have to do ALL the colors BEFORE turning the printer back on.THEN, if it's still clogged, you have to start all over again. In other words, to then use the cleaner filled cartridge in the printer for the cleaning cycle, so as to not waste ink. Meaning, can individual users do this?After-market (extra large capacity) print cartridges have been used for all 4 colours. In recent weeks the black print nozzles have been blocking, leading to missing lines and feint print etc. The other colours have been fine. The on board software cleaning method worked fine in so far as it soon restored perfect printing.http://bilagroup.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16347bbc6bac68---daewoo-g25e-3-manual.pdf However, the Big issue was that within literally 2 to 3 pages of work, the nozzles were blocking up again, so something was definitely not okay, and it started to get very irritating having to constantly go through the self clean cycles etc, only for the problem to recur so quickly. Before taking this printer to the local recycling centre, I purchased this print head cleaning kit. I followed the instructions included and the on line video tutorials to the letter and in summary, this printer is now working back to 100 reliability, which is such a relief. When I manually moved the print head over the fresh paper, even before using the cleaning solution, I was amazed at how much black “graphite” looking residue deposited itself onto the paper. This I strongly suspect, was the cause of the problems. Surprisingly, but thankfully, the injection of the cleaning fluid required hardly any pressure through the syringe. I injected the solution very slowly as it quickly soaks the kitchen paper towel below the head. After injecting a bit of the solution, I kept manually moving the print head gently back and forth, moving it to a clean bit of paper towel as necessary, and repeating. I then left the solution in for about 90 minutes, before completing the process. After reinserting a new Black cartridge, the test print initially showed some missing black lines, which was disheartening. However, the instructions did say that it may require up to 4 of the printer’s own cleaning cycle to complete the process. Thankfully after 3 self cleans, the test print was free of missing lines. Importantly, this printer has since done lots of printing with zero issues, all working fine. For me this kit scores 10 out of 10.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again This is because I don't use it as much as I used to but when I do I have clean the heads three and four times before the print looks decent. After figuring out which tubes to use for what, the rest was easy.https://ontheedgeofnow.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16347bbca6f05b---daewoo-koc-985t-manual.pdf I must admit I followed youtube as I am a visual person. I used it today and low and behold the print quality was excellent like new. It took a little while for the ink to run through the heads so I printed a document.Would definitely recommend to buy.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again A cleaning kit being much cheaper than a new multifunction printer, I tried it and it worked great. After cleaning it was necessary to print a number of trial prints and four self cleaning cycles to achieve a final result. One important point, which is clear in the very good instructional video on You Tube but less so in the enclosed instructions, is to clean the sponge wiper at one end of the print head travel; mine was saturated with old ink and would only have served to dirty rather than clean the print head. The solvent from the kit and some ear buds did that very well. After one thorough clean, there is enough left in the kit for two more.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I followed each stage of the instructions and old ink soaked into the kitchen roll pieces that I used as advised, until it ran clear. However, every attempt to test print resulted in further part or total blockages, despite repeating the cleaning process and following the other instructions for severe blockages. I used all the solution in the end and several new ink cartridges in cleaning and printing but still had blockages occurring in the print head. I concluded that my Brother MFC-5910DW was just poorly designed, with long lines between the cartridges and the print head, making blockages occur repeatedly. I had had blockages occurring from time to time throughout my ownership of this printer but they had cleared after putting in new inks and repeatedly using the printer’s cleaning process.Sorry, we failed to record your vote.dakotaterritorycustomhomes.com/ckfinder/userfiles/files/Di-Lb604-Manual-Download.pdf Please try again I purchased this item as my printer stopped printing black in completely after it failed to register when the cartridge had run out. Despite changing the cartridge and performing multiple self-cleans, the black ink was failing to print at all. Following both the written and video instructions, it is easy to perform the cleaning procedure with confidence. Although the video tutorial does state that if the cleaning process does not work after using the fluid and the performing a printer self-clean 3 times then this may be the end of the road, I did not find this to be the case. In order to restore function to the black ink, my printer needed the cleaning procedure to be performed twice, leaving the fluid in the printer for an hour (i left the nozzle attached and just slowly pushed a little extra fluid through every 20minutes and changed the paper towel each time). The self-clean procedure then needed to be performed 5 times before the black ink returned to full function. The prodecure is a little messy, so place your printer on a wipable surface (or some newspaper) as i found some of the cleaner fluid spilled back out of the nozzle and also there was black ink on the rubber tubing which spat when i removed it from the nozzle. It will also take more than one paper towel to clean. There is also a sponge on the left hand side of the printer when you open it up which is designed to clean the print heads. Mine was saturated and required blotting with a few paper towels. Overall a fantastic product and I would highly recommend.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again However the Brother MFC J6510DW ink nozzles are recessed and with my hands it was difficult to put the pipe on. I did eventually get there and carried out the instructions. The yellow head was very bad less than half the jets working. (It's strange as a new cartridge had been fitted 2 days earlier and was working perfectly the day before. On switching on the next day the yellow was terrible and no amount of cleaning cycles worked.) I had to use the cleaning cycle a number of times to purge the cleaning solution then viola working as it should be.I shall use the kit again but wonder if there is something wrong with the head or the ink?Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I persevered, using the solution as discribed, eventually leaving it to soak overnight and purging all cartridges. Unfourtunatley the print quality didn't improve. I'm not saying that the product doesn't work, but it didn't resolve my problem. If I had a blocked printer head on another printer, I would try it again as it's far cheaper than a new printer!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again If you haven't used it before, it is easy to use and the kit does its job perfectly. Be prepared for the messy liquid when you flush the printhead. If your printhead is heavily blocked like mine, then I doubt it would work for you. However, it is worth trying this kit before you take out your credit card to buy a new printer. 5-star for their customer service. There is a follow up message after sale to check how you are getting on with the cleaning, which is a fantastic initiative from them. The live up to their refund promise if the cleaning kit fails to do its job. This gives you a sense of security and confidence buying from them.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again The self cleaning function made no difference. The guarantee on it had just expired, so as a last resort I decided to try this ink cleaning kit. I contacted the technical support about a query I had and they replied straight away. I ordered the kit on Saturday night and it arrived the following morning on Easter Sunday, thanks to Amazon Prime. I watched the short you tube video that Printhead Hospital have and then followed the written instructions that come with the kit, which are quite clear and easy to follow. After using the kit, I used the self clean function and the black ink started to show on the test print. I did another two self cleans and the black ink is now printing without any problems. You get 150ml of cleaning fluid. My print head just required one clean, which used 6ml of fluid. Hopefully I won’t get the problem with any of my other inks in future, but if I do, I still have plenty of cleaning fluid left. If the kit does not work, Printhead Hospital offer technical advice, and if still unsuccessful they will refund ?10 of the cost, which I think is a pretty good deal. I would recommend this kit. It might save you having to buy a new printer.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I had a quote for someone to come out and fix it of over ?100 so thought i'd give this kit a try first to see if i could clear the problem myself. The kit came the next day, even though it said it would be 2 days, and was excellent. The guide is well thought out and easy to follow, after reading the instructions i also watched the youtube video they also provide just to be sure i wasnt missing anything. The kit worked perfectly first time and i had plenty of liquid left over to keep in the draw in case it blocks again. If you are having ink problems i would certainly suggest you try this kit before anything more expensive as it could end up saving you a lot of money.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again But I was impressed immediately with the quick delivery and good reviews. The video online was clear, as were the printed instructions. I followed the instructions carefully. I found it very hard to get the tubing on, but I found an old pen that was just the right dimension and fitted the tubing in it. This made it easy to put enough pressure on to get the tube attached. I did put new cartridges in, when I'd finished cleaning; that may have helped. Once completed, the first test print was worse than ever. The second one, not much better. The third printout was almost perfect. Now, it is perfect.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again First of all it;s a bit of a fuss to use this. I also had a hard time to get the flexible tube attached to the ink nozzle thingy. It just didn't seem to fit at all. When I finally managed to do it I followed the rest of the instructions and waited with bated breath. The result: it still printed lines. I suppose it was worth a try, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I decided that on my next attempt to allow the fluid extra time to warm up, as well as leaving it to work on the printhead for longer. Don't be to frugal with the fluid, it takes what it takes to shift the blockage and achieve the result you want.So give it a go you've nothing to lose.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It contained 200ml of unblocking fluid (enough for cleaning 25 individual heads on the A3 printer) as well as blotting paper, rubber gloves etc. The connecting tube between the syringe and printer was fiddly to fit, small hands would have been better, due to the restricted space in the cartridge compartment. It took 3 applications to clear the blocked (blue) jet, possibly because I was wary of putting too much pressure onto the syringe. Unfortunately the interim head cleaning process used up the ink cartridges so it was necessary to install some more only for the printer suffer an unrepairable malfunction, causing it to be scrapped. Knowing how Brothers printers tend to eventually clog up if non genuine ink is used, I can recommend this be kept as an emergency kit for when the time comes.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Quick search on the web showed that it was possible to clean the print head I was a bit concerned about this working, but thought I would give it a try before buying a new printer. I ordered the cleaning kit arrived and it arrived within a few days which was excellent. Using the kit is straight forward. The instructions are very clear and if you get stuck, there are excellent YouTube videos from the Printhead Hospital demonstrating the whole cleaning process. The only awkward part I found was fitting the tube to the printer nozzle, but this more to do with the limited access to the nozzle. (I only had a blockage with the black ink, but had to remove the yellow cartridge in order to have space to work with). I applied 4ml of the solution waited about 10 minutes and then applied a further 1ml. The first test print showed some success but was very poor. I ran two printer cleaning cycles (as mentioned in the instructions) and the final test print result was outstanding. The kit comes with 2 x 50ml bottles of fluid which equates to about 20 cleans. I will probably clean the nozzles every time I replace cartridges in order to prevent future blockages. This is an excellent product which I would highly recommend.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. You can adjust your Cookie Preferences at the bottom of this page.
