I first bought the Warn premiums and was dissatisfied with the cheap chrome cap (which was peeling right out of the box). I sent them back and got these which look better, seem to work better, are less expensive and have a stainless steel outer cap instead of a chrome plated zinc housing. I would buy these again in an instant.http://ammarcomplex.com/fckimages/99-mercury-cougar-manual.xml

Very nice quality with the castings and machining and they look nice and clean in stainless steel. I used these to replace non-selectable hubs on the Dana 44 front axle on my 1975 Jeep Wagoneer that came equipped with a full time 4 wheel drive system. I am swapping the original Borg-Warner 1339 quadratrac transfer case for a part time Dana 20. I have had my front drive shaft removed for a few hundred miles (with the t-case in emergency lockout). For anyone else out there doing this (driving around in 2 wheel drive) with their quadratrac equipped rig; being able to unlock the front axle shafts from the hubs will help out your steering a lot. My front end is all brand new and has a fresh spring over conversion. Still had very sensitive steering after all this brand new work and a good alignment; added these hubs and the steering feels much tighter, as in less reactive to steering inputs. Only reason I can think of is that the axle shafts while spinning helped to amplify steering inputs.I previously purchased Warn hubs on Amazon but had to return them. (Only one of the two hubs would slide into the axle hub.) These Mile Marker's are less expensive than the Warn hubs and they fit better and work perfectly. I think the quality of the internal components is superior to Warn.Auto Hubs require the adapter kit Since I already had The six bolt type assembly this was only a matter of removing the old Hubs and installing the new ones. They work great and look sharp. My first set has been on my truck for 4 years and untold abusive dirt and pavement miles and still looks great. I get a positive lock and unlock every time. Hard to beat for the price. Those were always tough to engage when it was cold out so I decided to give these Mile Marker hubs a try. I love them so far! It's also nice that they're stainless covered. Of course the inside is aluminum or some similar white metal but that's fine.http://consade.com/userfiles/99-mercury-cougar-manual-transmission-fluid.xml The only reason I'm not giving a five star is that the screws that came with the hubs were mismatched. What's odd is that they were in the same sealed package. Some were stainless and some were zinc coated. Weird. They engage and disengage nicely. Bring it winter!I have had stock manual hubs and stock auto hubs. These are better than both by far unlike stock manual hubs thiese are all metal and rotate easy. And unlike my auto hubs I know when my hubs are locked in and thiese don't wonder in and out of locked while I drive on road. Easy installation it took about 20 mins. It would have been faster but I installed one with the letters upside down and decided to fix it. Cause I knew it would bother me. And I got free 2 day shipping from amazon prime and it got here overnight. Less than 24 hours later I had them in my hands. So to recap it was a great deal, easy installation, works and looks great and super fast shipping. I paid to have mine swapped though.I tried pulling the autos out a few times and cleaning them but eventually realized I had to make the switch to manuals. I highly recommend the Warn Premiums- solid metal construction, no plastic parts. It has been mentioned already, but if you have the 5-bolt hubs then it is just a straight swap. If you have the 3 bolt, there is a conversion kit you buy along with the hubs. Local 4WD store had them for the same. Why, I don't know, since if you are careful and pay attention and go slow it is not difficult. This is the link I used to guide me, even though the hubs come with instructions: The only tricky part is getting some pressure applied to the joint behind the wheel in order to force the spindles out far enough to get the new hub on. They probably had a nice little party celebrating the fact that drivers could engage 4WD front hubs without exiting the cab of their vehicle. It's doubtful they ever imagined that people would spend hard-earned money to convert the hubs back to manual units. That's been the case, however, for decades now - and there are good reasons for it. Sure, it's nice to shift into 4WD without getting your feet muddy or wet, but automatic hubs gained a track record for breaking - often. Simply put, they're just not as strong as premium quality manual hubs, like the set the Warn sent us for our project Bronco, The Juice. Plus, in certain cases, when an automatic hub fails, it binds up and there's no way to disengage it or roll further forward, leaving you stuck in place. Every year manufacturers do trick out every kind Every year manufacturers do trick out every kind of truck imaginable to show off their custom parts. Here’s a short list of the coolest trends we saw this year. The F100s wowed the audience like usual. But it was really the custom SUVs that took the cake. Typically, manufacturers set the suspension to keep the rockers far from the ground. One custom trend this year is to drop the chassis sow low the rockers almost touch the ground. But we’ve not been able to jack up trucks to such awesome heights while maintaining that chromatic sense of beauty until now. For example, Tim Dunaway of FLO Airride built the Midas Touch out of a brand new 2018 Ford F-250 Platinum. He converted the steering to high-steer crossover steering. He used double overlay with mirrored stainless steel on top of the complete suspension to give it a shiny (Midas) touch. But you’ll probably agree that it’s one you and your neighbor will replicate in the next year or two. Military paint design is on the rise. Military vehicles were designed to withstand the most brutal environments. Thus, every design choice from the chassis to the paint job was a matter of function over form. Paints were rugged and made to protect and not look pretty. You get a beautiful and badass truck that can withstand brutal abrasions. It creates the best conversation starter too. It really depends on what you want. Do you want to have an unusual looking pickup or an actual military monster? Mike Burroughs of Tanceworks took advantage of a recent trend in hot rods: distressed. He replaced the engine with a supercharged Coyote V-8. The pushrod was racing inspired and the bell crank rear suspension allows the truck to ride on centerlock IMSA prototype wheels. If you’re interested in more classic custom trends, check out our classic car section. As a matter of fact, the With a price tag like that, it’s imperative that you protect your purchase. If you’ve seen these covers around but haven’t taken the leap towards buying one, here’s why you should. Still, if you park your car outside every day for hours at a time, your paint is going to fade. Rather than just resigning yourself to that fate, outdoor car covers may protect you from what seems inevitable. Heavy-duty ones may provide enough protection to absorb those dreaded door dings. An outside car cover makes it so that target isn’t your vehicle. Fortunately, they’re not thanks to the volume of buying options that there are online. Keep reading more of our content today! Indeed, around 17 million of them are sold every year in the United Straight off the factory line, they come in the generic color and aesthetic finish as every other car of the same model. Many people want something altogether more personalized. With vinyl wrapping, you can customize the look of a vehicle in almost any way imaginable! Interested in finding out more? Many vehicles come with a similar film applied as standard anyway. Any debris that kicks up from the ground is less likely to damage the paint job. You can wrap an entire vehicle in almost any color you want! That’s good news for car owners who hate the appearance of their vehicle. With car wrapping, they can customize the color and style without breaking the bank. However, the hassle and frustration of a poor-quality finish aren’t worth it. You could wrap an entire vehicle and create a barrier between its paint and the outside world. The wear and tear that’s to be expected from driving a car will affect the wrap, not the paint beneath. First and foremost, it’s expensive. A new paint job can cost an arm and a leg, which made it unaffordable for many. Selling a car that’s been painted isn’t easy either. It might look great, which can make some sellers dubious about possible damage being covered up. There’s no going back if you change your mind about the color. After all, it’s a big job with multiple steps. Assuming the designs have been sorted and the vehicle’s clean, adding the wrap itself can be completed within 48 hours. Of course, smaller jobs take even less time than that. Going days on end without access to it can be an extreme hassle for many households. The swift turnaround of vinyl reduces the hindrance. You can wrap individual sections or entire vehicles in as many colors and finishes as you like. In simple terms, there’s less choice in terms of color and hue. You’ll see cars driving around that look like fighter jets and fire engines, or in your favorite sports team’s colors! People won’t know the difference. Even better, the benefits don’t stop there! The first Bronco was built on its own custom chassis, while the full-size Bronco was derived from the Ford F-Series pickup; all Broncos were produced with four-wheel drive powertrains. The idea behind the first generation Bronco began with Ford product manager Donald N. Frey and engineered by Ford engineer Paul G. Axelrad. The Bronco was developed as an off-road vehicle, ORV. And as an ORV, the Bronco became popular. However, make sure you have a Ford Bronco repair manual pdf before you tinker with your Bronco to make sure you do the job right the first time. For the 1978 model year, the second generation Bronco was introduced. In place of a custom chassis, the Bronco's new chassis was adapted directly from the Ford F-Series. However, the Bronco's release was postponed to 1978 in response to the 1973 fuel crisis. Some of the issues addressed were: the 1980 Bronco was overall shorter and lighter than its predecessor, it was also designed to adopt a more efficient powertrain while retaining its full-size dimensions. For the 1987 model year the fourth generation Bronco was also given an update. Introduced in 1978 Bronco, the shortened F-100 platform saw changes. The 1987 Bronco was given several updates to both the exterior and interior. As it shared its front sheet metal with the F-150, in the interest of slightly better aerodynamics, the Bronco gained its reshaped front bumper and hood, composite headlamps, and flatter front grille. The interior was given redesigned door panels, front seats, instrument panels, and dashboard. The 1992 model year fifth generation Bronco saw a significant design reworking. It was still built on the same F-Series chassis introduced in 1977; however, the Bronco also saw updates to the interior, exterior, and overall body design in the effort to make the Bronco more aerodynamic. The interior again saw updates to the instrument panel and dashboard, as well as the option of leather front seats for the Eddie Bauer and XLT trims, as well as optional remote keyless entry with an anti-theft alarm were also added. And in 2015, after a 25 years absence, Ford announced the return of the Bronco for 2020. The sixth generation Bronco will be the first mid-size SUV Bronco. This announcement has made many people excited to see what Ford will produce. In the world of off-roading, the Bronco definitely made a name for itself. Making sure your Bronco is in shape before hitting the unbeaten path is important. Make sure you grab your Ford Bronco service manual, today.
