I just did it for my Britax First Class Plus car seat (which is 6 yrs old) but installation still the same as the newer model. Good I really need to wash them. I cant see how the cover comes off. It is very fiddly and difficult to put back together again. If you have lost instructions these can be obtained. How do I remove the base unit. Hi Normally it's not reccomandable to remove the base. It's build to last forever and keep the seat sturdy in it's place. This. Yes, it must be used to properly protect. Answer questions, earn points and help others. For recall information, call the U.S. Government's Auto Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236. The only exception is if the air bag is turned off. Their use could cause this booster seat to fail Federal safety standards or perform worse in a crash. Their use voids the Britax warranty. On the side by the door, the top part of belt goes through the hook and the bottom part is held in by the clip. On the other side both parts of belt are held down by the clip. If it has a lever, pull it up to lock everything in. Don't know where our manual is though sorry! Please could you also send me the PDF link - I'd be really grateful as have tried for hours to download it! Thanks. Read our reviews of baby car seats,We have been given the car seat by friends and told it is simple to install, but with no instructions!! and I am not wanting to risk a wrong install. If anyone has this user guide, that would be great. We have this as a spare for pil's car and it is quite fiddly to install!!! but once installed it does feel rock solid. I have one and the instruction book has sepereate fitting instructions for 3 point and lap only fittings. It's a Brittax, but can't remember the model! Still, I would have 3 points fitted for when they grow out of the seat. Always use the lockoff closest to your seat belt buckle. Britax states in their manual that for rear facing the strap needs to be in the inner slot when installing via seat belt and the slot closest to but not under the child when installing via lower anchors. For forward facing, the crotch strap needs to be in the outer slot for children over 30 pounds. You also use the outer slot if the buckle is under the child when using the inner slot.http://olymp-kiev.com/temp/fckeditor/96-dodge-caravan-owners-manual.xml Britax Boulevard has 3 recline positions Three adjustable recline positions make it easy to get installed at the correct angle rear facing. Only position three (fully reclined) can be used rear facing. Position 1 or 2 can be used forward facing, but position one has to be used for children over 40 pounds when installing via lap belt only. Britax Boulevard push button lower anchor connectors and storage Push button lower anchor connectors make lower anchor installation a breeze. Attach the connector on to the lower anchor in the vehicle and pull the webbing tight. The storage area of the lower anchors are on the back of the seat base. They clip in nicely for out of the way storage when installing via seat belt. Britax Boulevard harness positions No rethread harness (10 positions) allows the caregiver to move the harness without uninstalling the seat and rethreading the harness. Britax Boulevard anti-rebound bar Anti-rebound bar is available to purchase separately via Britax (not to be used with the rear facing tether). This is a nice add-on that Britax has recently added to their online store. Britax Boulevard rear facing tether Rear facing tether available on certain model dates, if stated in the user manual (not to be used with the anti-rebound bar). Some older models that still allow rear face tethering come with a metal d-ring. Newer models that still allow it will come with a loop on either end of a strap. The instruction manual shows how to use the connector strap. Note: Many vehicles no longer allow rear facing tether use. Britax Boulevard infant positioning pillow Infant positioning pillow is required for infants who weigh up to 22 pounds and not permitted for children who weigh more than 22 pounds. This insert improves the fit for the tiniest of passengers. Updated Features Britax has taken a back to basics approach with their newest convertibles and updated several features to make them more user-friendly.http://www.statcardsports.com/node/10553 Britax Boulevard descriptive wording Descriptive names for safety features, updated logos and boxes Britax has moved away from acronyms to spelling out the full features. HUGS, for example, are now referred to as impact absorbing chest pads. They’ve updated their labels and their boxes to match this change. Britax is also moving away from the white boxes to a brown box that doesn’t show the wear and tear a box goes through in shipping. Britax Boulevard red adjustment levers Different colored adjustment levels The recline and head support adjustment levers have also switched from grey to red to make them easier to find and thus more user-friendly. Britax Boulevard lower anchor limits Lower Anchor limits As of February 2014, car seats must have labels stating the child’s weight limit for the use of lower anchors. The new Britax seats have these updated labels with the current lower anchor limits clearly listed on the side for both rear facing and forward facing. Britax Boulevard tether and anti-rebound bar Tethers and Anti-rebound bar Britax has shortened their tether straps, but do offer a tether extension if needed. The biggest change they’ve instituted is moving away from a rear facing tether to an anti-rebound bar (ARB). The ARB is available separately via Britax.com. Many vehicles no longer allow seats to tether rear facing due to occupant detection systems, so Britax has decided the ARB is an easy fix: no more having to figure out if your vehicle allows a rear facing tether or not. This is a rolling change to the non ClickTight convertibles, so some will still allow you to tether while rear facing; others will not. If your manual allows it, please make sure to check with your vehicle manufacturer to make sure they allow it as well. This means that one strap doesn’t have to be pulled tight through the seat which can sometimes cause it to bind up in the belt path. The individual adjusters make for an easy lower anchor installation.http://hillstromplasticsurgery.com/images/camry-factory-service-manual-pdf.pdf Lower anchors can be used until the child weighs 40 pounds. This means the seat can always be installed with the lower anchors when rear facing if your seating position allows. The Boulevard does not allow for borrowing lower anchors from outboard seating positions. It does allow for overhang for those with shallow vehicle seats. Britax Boulevard rear facing lockoffs If a seat belt installation is preferred, that method is easy as well with Britax’s seat belt lockoffs. They are found by lifting the cover. Just open the lock off closest to your seat belt buckle, thread the belt through the rear facing belt path, buckle and tighten. Then flip the lock off over the seat belt to lock it into place. The Britax lock offs can sometimes be difficult to clip all the way. One tip for using the lock offs is to use the palm of your hand to close them, not your fingers. Recline needs to be in position three for rear facing installation no matter the installation method. The crotch buckle needs to in front of, not under the child. For seat belt installation, the crotch buckle needs to be in the closest position for threading the seat belt through. For lower anchor installation, the crotch buckle can be in either position as long as the buckle isn’t under the child. Forward Facing Installation Lower anchor weight limits Forward facing- child weight of 50 pounds Britax Boulevard forward facing installation Lower anchor installation is allowed up to child weight of 50 pounds for forward facing. Recline positions one or two can be used forward facing. Recline position one must be used for children over 40 pounds, when installing with lap belt only. Both lower anchor and seat belt installations are just as easy forward as they are rear. For seat belt installation, thread the belt through the lockoff closest to the buckle. Buckle, tighten, then close the lockoff over the seat belt locking it into place.https://training-solutions.ro/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/163422614e2f54---cx777es-manual.pdf Fit to Child Rear Facing Rear facing weight range: 5-40 pounds Rear facing height range: 49 inches or less, or 1 inch from the top of the head to the top of the shell (not head support head support (Britax recently amended the manual on G4.1 seats manufactured after Oct 2014 to include the head support) Britax Boulevard Newborn doll, 7 pounds, 17 inches Our newborn Huggable Images doll weighs 7 pounds and is 17 inches long. She fit very well with the infant positioning pillow in place. It bumped her up just enough so that her shoulders were just barely above the bottom harness slots. I was pleasantly surprised to find that she fit nicely with the impact absorbing chest pads. These pads are highly recommended for forward facing, but can be removed rear facing to ensure a snug fit for small infants. The Boulevard also fits him very well without the infant positioning pillow. He’s on the third harness position and has the crotch strap in the outer position. He frequently sleeps in this seat with no complaints of being hot or uncomfortable. Britax Boulevard, 3 years old, 25 pounds, 34 inches Our 3 year old model also fits well rear facing in the Boulevard. She weighs 25 pounds and is 34 inches tall. At 3 years old, she’s still safer rear facing than forward facing. She is actually on the same harness position as our younger model but has the crotch buckle on the smaller position. She has plenty of leg room in the seat. She fits as well in the seat forward facing as she fit in it rear facing. She has about three or four more harness positions to grow. I could see this seat lasting her for a long time to come. We’re not terribly surprised that she barely fits in the Boulevard. Her shoulders are right at the highest harness position and her legs are hanging over the edge of the shallow seat pan. She still seemed to fit width wise well, although a typical child of this height and weight might be a bit snug.airbornelabs.com/images/editor/files/Detroit-Diesel-92-Series-Service-Manual.pdf At her age, if she can sit properly, switching to a dedicated booster would be a safe choice. Expiration is 7 years and can be found on page 5 of the instruction manual. Britax Boulevard FAA certification FAA approval label is on the outside of the seat’s base, and on page 6 of the instruction manual. The only downfall to this Boulevard, and other previous Britax convertibles, is the short shell and shallow seat pan. None of these are a safety concern, but if you have larger children these complaints mean the child could outgrow the seat before they’re ready for the next step. Britax has addressed these issues with their newest convertible line up, the ClickTights. Read our review on the Britax Advocate ClickTight for more information on those. Overall, I’m pleased with the Britax Boulevard. They can be found on Amazon.com. Two of the current covers are not as soft as the other covers are. There are currently only four covers to choose from, one pink and the other three neutral. Conclusion: I would recommend this seat to anyone who wants to keep their child harnessed as long as possible, if they can no longer rear-face. If they are aware of which installation method is needed and when, and whether it is compatible with the vehicle, this seat is worth the money. We have had our Regent for 10 months and are very happy with it. Install Pictures The pictures below were taken in a 2004 Malibu with the Regent in center position, and are correct methods at the time of install (e.g. the recline bar was not required when the first picture was taken, but now is). Short path LATCH (Sahara cover): The reason I changed it to LBP was because of the enhancement advisory that came out recommending all children under 40 pounds use the LBP. Wouldnt that make it hard to tighten? Wouldnt that make it hard to tighten? It seems like it would be harder to do, but I haven't tried it. I've also included notes regarding install instructions changing. The recline bar is in the way no matter which path I use and prevents me from getting the seat installed tight at all using LATCH. I drive a Misubishi Lancer. These are the rules you must follow to restrain your children safely. This fitment is in the 2nd row captain’s chair in a third generation, 2006 Honda Odyssey. This type of install is allowed on certain child restraint models, such as the Britax Frontier and Britax Regent. If permitted in the child restraint owner’s manual, this seatbelt routing may result in a more secure installation than the standard short seat belt path. This type of install can take a little more time and effort. You have to make sure not to get the seatbelt twisted and it may be a little more difficult to feed the slack from the lap belt up into the shoulder belt retractor. A second pair of hands can be a big help. Without further ado: Instructions are also included on Page 28 of the owner’s manual. Here’s a much better quality video from Britax: February 24, 2010 The tip about reclining the seat made all the difference. Once we brought the seat back to upright everything was nice and tight. YEAH! The only reason I pull all the belt out first is that it makes it easier for me to keep it from twisting the seatbelt as I route it behind the child seat. If it doesn’t work one way for you, it’s good to have an alternative that might work better;-) Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you. We have our Frontier installed using LATCH because my daughter is only 35 lbs. We also drive a Honda Odyssey and I was so afraid of when we have to install using the LBP. You make it look so easy. I’m not as intimidated anymore, so thanks! ?? It offers such flexibility.www.china-vitai.com/userfiles/files/Despatch-Bay-Manual-Handling-Charges.pdf Thank goodness I never installed the “advisory” kit on my 2006 Regent, too, because LBP (without recline bar) is the only, ONLY way I can get the seat installed in my 1998 Escort. Further, we believe that the instruction is appropriate when the CRS is installed using the lower anchorages of a child restraint anchorage system (79) and when the CRS is installed using a seat belt. The instruction is simple and would increase the ease of use of tether anchorages. The agency requests comments on this issue. If consumers were provided the simple and straightforward instruction to always attach the tether on the subject CRSs, we believe that tether use would increase, to the benefit of child passengers. In tests of a restrained dummy in forward-facing CRSs with harnesses, researchers found reduced head excursions due to tether use in frontal sled tests conducted at different speeds. (80) Field data indicate that the most common injury to children restrained in child restraints is a head injury, and the source of injury is often contact with vehicle structures in front of the child restraint, such as the vehicle front seat back. (81) We tentatively conclude that the use of tethers would reduce the magnitude of head excursions, and that reduced head excursions would result in fewer and less severe head injuries. (82) Test data indicate that tether anchorages are extremely robust and would be reasonably able to withstand crash forces generated by virtually all restrained children in the subject CRSs. NHTSA has tentatively determined that the analysis shows that tether anchorages are sufficiently strong to warrant an instruction that they should be used with all children restrained in a forward-facing CRS with an internal harness.” Note: Recaro was the only car seat manufacturer to specifically prohibit using the tether for heavier children. The Recaro ProSport initially did not allow the use of the tether when the child weighed more than 52 pounds. However, since the 2014 recall on the ProSport, Recaro changed their policy and ALWAYS wants the tether used on the ProSport, even including the ones that stated to stop using the tether after 52 pounds, when the child is using the 5-point harness, up to the full 90 pound capacity of the 5 point harness. For more information, see here. What are the car seat manufacturers doing in light of the lower anchor weight limits. Many car seat manufacturers are getting more innovative with the design of their seats to make installation easier for heavier kids. Many car seats are now optimized for a seat belt installation, making the LATCH weight limit irrelevant. Easy-to-use seat built-in seat belt locking devices make a seat belt installation easier in many vehicles. These include: Britax’s “ClickTight” technology Graco’s “SnugLock” device Chicco’s seat belt lockoff device Other manufacturers, like Clek, have approached the issue from a different direction. When using the Clek Foonf forward -facing, you can use the lower anchors to the full maximum of the seat (a child’s weight of 65 pounds) despite the fact that the car seat itself weighs 32 pounds. How is this possible. Clek did extensive testing to show that on their seat using the rigid lower anchors plus the vehicle’s seat belt plus the tether is very safe when the seat is used forward facing. The seat belt is the “back-up plan” so that should the lower anchors not be strong enough, the seat belt will hold. The Foonf’s crumple zone technology (REACT system) requires the use of the lower anchors so installing the seat with just the seat belt plus tether forward facing would mean missing out on this great feature of this seat. It depends on whom you ask and when your seat was made. But first, an explanation of SuperLATCH. This picture here shows a regular lower anchor connector on the left and a SuperLATCH connector on the right. All Diono seats made after Feb 27, 2014, even those with superLATCH, must comply with the new government regulations. As such, the lower anchor weight limit is a child’s weight of 35 pounds for rear-facing and 40 pounds for forward-facing on the Diono Radian seats. For vehicles 2005 and older, you must consult the vehicle manual for the lower anchor weight limit. Do seat belts have weight limits. Book Appointment. The tangle-free, five-point harness and push-button LATCH connectors help to tightly secure your child every day. The Regent fits children forward facing from at least one year old and 22 pounds, up to 80 pounds. The Regent is made in the USA with U.S. and global components.I have no idea why Britax discontinued it. We have owned the Roundabout and Marathon seats and by far, the Regent is our favorite. We selected the Regent when our oldest was 2 and already weighed 38 pounds. We are a tall family and knew that we needed a seat that she would not outgrow after a short time. The Regent surpassed our expectations. We prefer the safety of a 5-point harness over a booster seat that relies on a regular seat belt, so we liked that the Regent accommodates a child up to 80 pounds. We passed on both of our Regents to our younger child. She is 8 years old and slim and still fits comfortably in the Regent. She loves the side pockets and head rest and has no desire to switch to a booster seat!I insisted that the kids remain in a 5-point booster past when they could legally move into a booster seat, but they wanted desperately to be like their friends. The Regent looks enough like a high backed booster that they were more willing to accept being in a 5-point harness.I had the infant seat and then went to the roundabout. My two year old is tall and on the thicker side. I can see her and see if comfortable which means less whinning. This seat was easier to put into the car than the other two. We also love the fact that it goes up to 8 years. The only downfall is that its big, however, it fits comfortablly in my chevy cavailer.Great for the price.Which while is a great seat, its not for EVERYONE. But I am pretty excited that a new updated Frontier will be coming out around March, No one knows an exact date but My plan is if it has more harness height then I will be getting it for a second seat. I'm still SO TEMPTED to go ahead and get another Regent though, This is a great price for such a Great Seat!My son weighs 42lbs.He has plenty of room to grow both in weight and height.I highly recommend this seat for those kids who are tall for their age.Won't use boosters cuz I want my children to survive a car crash! But if you have a big enough space to accomodate it, it's great. It will help keep your child in a harness for as long as possible - up to 80 pounds and 53 inches. Easy to install, esp.I am really happy with this seat! The belt closure will not snag on the girl's skin when wearing a dress. My 3 year old loves the seat!Am thinking of ordering another for hubby's truck! It has the lowest price, free shipping and the seat arrived in 2 days. The seat is huge, like an arm chair. But it's equally comfortable. It has nice thick straps that don't tangle up. My daughter who's 40 lbs (5 years old) will fit in it for a long time. She falls asleep in it as soon as the tires hit the road. The only slightly weird thing is the bar that needs to be banged with rubber mallet (?) but that was easy enough. It is stable and doesn't budge when installed properly (which is very easy, especially if you had Britax before). This seat gets high marks for safety on a lot of carseat boards. It is a pretty sand color with gray (almost silver) accents. It is gender neutral. But if your daughter like mine prefers pink princess seats show her the attached manual with the picture of a girl dressed in a pink princess dress and wearing a crown and she'll be happy:). Good job Britax. Great job Albeebaby!
