This is an in roof mounted unit so out of the weather. The LCD wall controller is clear and I found easy to operate in both manual and program modes.http://culturecuisine-lemag.com/data/breville-esp2-manual-online.xml We have 4 zones and the wall controller allows you to rename each zone so you can select each or all zones. The cost to zone is not expensive and I would suggest mandatory even if you only have one zone to add to the common area like bed rooms to take the chill off before you retire for the night. The cost saving in using less gas more than pay for the zoning which are just placed in the existing duct work. A terrific feature of this unit is the ability to vary the heater output fan speed as more zones are activated so the areas are heated quickly, meaning if only the common area is activated the fan isn't operating at hurricane speed.lol. This variable fan speed wasn't available on the old Rinnai which was set at max regardless of zones. It maintains a set temperature beautifully and the fan can't be heard as it heats the areas. In summary the unit performs as expected and we are very happy with its quietness and variable fan speed. Given this unit is the same 5star energy rating as our old unit I'd expect similar gas usage but as that depends on how we operate the zones hard to be 100 accurate. Serial No.474670 on Software V1.09, coupled to a MagiQtouch wall panel. We needed the ability to have, Zone1 ON while zone2 off AND ALSO vice versa. It was and still is, working perfectly until we required a seldom used setting. We have come across a switch setting which not only defies logic, but also doesn’t stand to reason. We cannot have Zone2 ON, when Zone1 is OFF. Perhaps, table below would explain it better. Your comments will be greatly appreciated, pl. Thanks. Cally Fernando. Is there anything anyone can suggest to avoid me having to have the service call, and most importantly, to get the thing working so we can stop freezing? If it's still covered call them for the warranty service. It was new with the house in 2012, so warranty expired 3 years later Back then they were handing out 5 year warranties so suggest you check just in case:) They get carboned up over time, and carbon is an excellent heat shield, so they stop detecting the flame; the unit then shuts down. Never done it myself so can't advise how it's done, it's not very difficult to do though. I'm noticing this behaviour in its operation which I'm sure I did not notice earlier. So during the past 1 week, there has been a few Melbourne winter nights where outside temperature hovered around 2-5C. During those nights, I set the unit to a 16C before sleep. I noticed that the unit ran just a couple of times in the night. Few times when I woke up in the middle of the night I could faintly hear the unit doing something but not really running and the spectrolink remote showing the fan symbol blinking on speed 1. It felt as if the unit was trying to get started but just couldn't. In the mornings, I could see that the spectrolink remote had an error code 10 and if I pressed the RESET button twice, it started back on. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary during the day when outside temperature is around 12-14C and the unit running comfortably all day at 18C. Can anyone throw light on this and tell me if this is expected or is something faulty. The unit is still under warranty till 2020. Ours is Brivis MaxPro and after 6 years we had it serviced first time after showing the same symptom. I call out for a technician, after he had a look he said.Condensate detected in run (TGS only) Probably the technician rest them and it didn’t occur again. I noticed the fan speed automatically went down to 8. When I increase the temperature it went back to 10. Is this Normal in heaters or fan should be always set to max (10) unless we manually change the speed. Mine was in auto mode, Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Nedums The flame will ignite, but the room air fan won't turn on for a bit because if it did it would circulate the cold air that's been sitting in the ducts, and make the house cooler. It will start after a minute or so when the heat exchanger has warmed up, and will ramp up to the fan speed to it was set at when programmed.Bumping up the temperature caused it to re-ignite the flame and increase the fan speed again. Test it by dropping the temp and watching the display. It's the atmospheric pressure style that usually suffer from problems). It's more likely to be the gas valve that heats the exchanger. With it turned off at the controller (still with power supplied), press and hold the zone 3 button until you see F01 (error code mode). Pressing zone 1 will show you high flame hours, and zone 2 low flame. This will show you the temperature of the thermistor that lives in the hot air duct. See what temp it's reading. You get to set the fan speed there. Our gas usage has been a bit lower this winter but we also use gas for hot water (and my wife hasn't been playing with the thermostat as much) and of course the weather varies so I don't know whether the fan speed has been a factor. I used to have the fan running up to 7 max as 10 seemed very high output. Duct temp was 57C, it's now 54C. Is there an issue with running the fan lower. It was put to me that lower speeds send the heat exchanger overtemp. There are overtemp sensors though. Had to adjust the inlet gas pipe to the regulator as it was lifting the manifold causing the gas inlets to the 2 burners closest the igniter to be misaligned. Is there an issue with running the fan lower? Would be a good idea to take a look at it, and if it's dirty pull it out and give it a clean. It was only just over a year old, but the amount of crud on the squirrel cage blades was incredible. Remove the top panel (lid). Remove the end panel on the left side of the unit (the control board side) by removing the 4 sheet metal screws and taking the panel off. Unplug the fan's 4 power terminals from the control board (earth, brown, blue, black) taking note of where they plug in. Push the rubber grommet that the fan's cable runs through into the hole, and push the cable through too. The fan will now slip out by slightly rotating it (lifting the feet while dropping it's front. The front of the fan has a top lip that slips in and under the heater frame). Here is a pic of the internals of the unit, note that the 4 star units do not have the middle section, it's an extra heat exchanger that scavenges even more heat from the burnt gas. Note that this is the view from the rear of the unit so the fan is on the right. I did mine today and it took about 30 minutes all up to remove, clean and reinstall. It's run for 2 seasons now with a filter and was quite clean. I think I'll clean it next in 3 years. Yeah, I've gone back to 8max.Would be a good idea to take a look at it, and if it's dirty pull it out and give it a clean. I'll get round to checking the fan once this season is over. It was only just over a year old, but the amount of crud on the squirrel cage blades was incredible. The fan was vibrating like a mofo: concrete slab, solid brick, metal ducts. The unit is outside and I have lifted the lid but there is no yellow condensate cable, and where it should be plugged in (as the name CONDENSATE is written), there are no cables connecting at all (apparently this is normal for a unit outside??). Tried cleaning, drying the unit even though inside is not wet, none of the clear tubes have water or condensation, played around with the remote control as per previous posts, but still cannot start it up. Thank you for any help. I can try uploading photos of the board if i can! I pulled out the condensation wire as suggested by the post and it came to life. Very impressed wife. But I'm concerned that the condensation sensor might actually indicate something important is wrong. Can anyone provide some reassurance. Wife will not be too happy if the heater blows us up! Thanks! It displayed Error 10 and after 10 minutes Error 19. It's now in Lockout 2 and won't even try to start. I've turned the power off numerous times. I've measured the resistance of OT1, OT2 and the the manual override switch. All seems OK.
