Use more power, the duration gets longer as more caps are switched back in. It helps you set the shutter speed on a leaf shutter camera, but tells you nothing about the flash's motion stopping ability. Because it's a worse looking number, makers of slow flashes don't publish it. It works by switching off the flash tube at low power settings, si as you lower the power, the duration gets lower, too. The Broncolor Scoro is the Rolls Royce of IGBT flashes, and is priced accordingly, about 2-3x the price of a Bowens Creo. Aside from the IGBT Broncolor and the Buff, there's also the Photogenic Solaire line, and possibly something new from StroBeam, and that's about it.I did want to hear from professional photographers that were actually using the Bowens Creo (that was the point of the thread) but it doesnt look like that may happen as the Bowens Creo is really new. Still the Bowens Explorer still has one of the fastest flash durations of any portable studio strobe including Broncolor, Profoto and Elinchrom. Lots of flashes have that, but it's usually manual. Automatic cap switching is nice. I had a flash that did that manually, and I was always forgetting to actually use that feature. It gets worse if you either increase or decrease the power. That's a weird side effect of cap-switching flashes. Bowens is being rather confusing about the duration, though. FWIW, both numbers could be right. Again, if you want something predictable, IGBT flashes are the only way to go. Thank you for the info on the Hensel. I didn't know they actually managed to get them out the door. And yes, I'd hope that something that costs over 10x the price of an Einstein would beat it in duration. But you misstated the duration. The feeds of certain Facebook groups seem to be entirely flooded with people attempting to turn day to night while keeping their subject well exposed. Giant softboxes also seem to be showing up more and more on location these days, too. Both of these things will suck out your flash power, demanding more light output. There isn’t really much information about the strobe beyond a couple of photos that appear to have been taken at some show or other, although I can’t think what’s going on right now where they might be on display. But this photo shows the pack in a little detail and offers some clues as to its capability. Except, as it’s Godox and part of their “Pro” line, it’s likely going to be battery-powered, similar to the Bowens Explorer 1500, whereas my Bowens pack is mains powered. So, if you want two heads, you’ll need two packs, even if you don’t plan to run them at anywhere near maximum power. This might bother a few people who were hoping for an asynchronous pack that could support a pair of lower wattage heads. Looking at the size of the pack, there’s no way they’d have been able to easily fit that inside a single head unit and still retain full capability. The battery will offer 500 full power charges with 0.01-2 second recycle times. That essentially turns the AD600s into a pair of battery packs, which is even more cumbersome. The only reason I have the Bowens Duo 2400 is for my Bowens Ringflash, and it would be nice to get a powerful ringflash away from the plug sockets. No details yet, though. And im cool with that. If they lack those features — mehhh. Some of my concerns might be stupid (not enough information is available yet to fully judge). I think at some point they should try improve their customer service. In the UK, we’re entitled to a 6 year manufacturers guarantee depending on the circumstance. Please don’t mention flashpoint and american shops; america isn’t the world. So for me, especially given that godox likely sells far more units than profoto, I’m not seeing this magical reliability people speak of with profoto. So don’t think I’m criticising godox’s reliablity. I just think that after a couple of years, if the units break, I would probably trust profoto to communicate with their customer more. That said, they’ll probably replace the capacitors for the same price as what a whole new godox unit costs lol, so I don’t know if you actually save anything long-term with profoto customer service. So I’m expecting no issues there. I hope as they charge more (again, I’m just assuming this will be more expensive), they think a bit more about materials. Still it’s nice they’re getting into this market. Hopefully it will make broncolor think about pricing, but probably not. The one in England, not Alabama.:) I have the flash head for godox AD 600 pro, I would have preferred that the connection cable was a couple of meters longer so that I could easily use it on the tripod in extension, keeping the flash unit down This is too bad because the newer 2.4GHz R2 system is subject to more interference. When I’m doing anything critical I use the R1 system to save the embarrassment of misfires with the R2 system. Hopefully it will be there in the production model. I’ve had constant issues with 433Mhz systems (including the “super reliable” Pocket Wizards). Wooten 4.0 out of 5 stars Here is how I finally assembled them.I took a star since the grid and front diffuser were a slightly little too big for the opening (length). The instructions were fine. Pay attention to which rib goes in which hole of the speed ring. All the ribs have a smaller end and that goes into the corner pockets (under the velcro). One rib has a collar that slides and that's the last one you put in, and it goes into the ring with the odd notch. This lets you put the rib in, then push the ring down into position and slide the collar up the rib to lock it in the ring. This will make sense once you have it in hand. You definitely want to practice a time or two before you go live.But one thing needs improvement, and that's that the softbox is very, very difficult to get set up with one person. You almost, no, literally, have to stand on the rods to get them to cooperate and bend properly while putting the ends into the pockets. That said, it feels very substantial after the setup. Take down is also a hassle, so keep that in mind. I was sweating just putting it up and taking it down, I soaked my t-shirt through.I had to purchase a bowens ring from another manufacturer to get it to mount, which means that I should have just gone with a different manufacturer vs losing a lot of my time.Good quality construction. The ringflash has 2 bulbs in it.It did work, but recycle times were very slow.I could not justify the investment into a ranger.On the ground I set the power to the minimum and the tronix did recycle very fast.Great value for very little money. Have you tried emailing Innovatronix. They may be able to give you some more guidance about using the Duo pack with the XT3.
