Nevertheless, you can build up quite complex layers when playing live without the sound quality suffering to an unacceptable degree, and you can still undo the last layer if it didn't sound right. This is a great way of working if you like jam-based composing and performance, and often you'll find that something magical happens during one of your meanderings that warrants being captured for further development after being copied over to your sequencer.
